  RISEN STAR STAKES

(G2)-Division 1-

A very tough race, divided in two groups,so we'll try to give you a clear view of these races for you.

MR.MONOMOY (9):

His connections (Juddmonte Farms) think that they've found a horse who can make it to the Derby, since last year they had in HIDDEN SCROLL a hopeful one after his amazing debut, but he didn't show anything else beyond that. This Into Mischief colt is up and coming and he looked nice on his first outing at Gulfstream after a stint at NYRA Tracks.I dare to say that he'll follow the early fight from a healthy distance to make his move at the right point.Irad Ortiz know the horse and he'll know how to take advantage of anything to win this race.

TIZ THE LAW (3):

He won in impressive style The Champagne Stakes and he had an unfortunate race in the Kentucky Jockey Club with any kind of troubles. He stumbled at the start, trapped on the rail most of the way and when he had an opening,he just tired and he couldn't do more to finish third, very close from SILVER PROSPECTOR.He worked out 4 Furlongs in 48",Manuel franco is back in the saddle, therefore this colt will be here with a vengeance.

RELENTLESS DANCER (6):

This Midshipman colt has won twice on a romp, specially at Delta Downs where he did a public workout. If we take under consideration how short is the stretch at this track,we can conclude that he could win with more margin on a regular stretch and if we do a subjective transfer,we can see that he can run close to the pace, and with an aggressive move,he can upset the field...Hey!!..HE HASN'T BEEN WORSE THAN THE THIRD BEST WORKOUT ON HIS 5 LAST WORKOUTS,INCLUDING 2 BULLETWORKS!!..WATCH OUT!!

MY FAVORITES: TOLEDO (1)  -  TIZ THE LAW (3)  -  RELENTLESS DANCER (6)

THE WITHERS STAKES

(Gr.3)

PRINCE OF PHAROAHS (6):

He ran a great one in the Jerome Handicap with consistency and top condition to finish second behind INDEPENDENCE HALL who was too much that day.Now this Linda Rice colt will be in his confort zone on a distance that will suit him up perfectly.Kendrick Carmouche will be back in the saddle and he'll break from the center of the track,so he could be close enough to the early leaders and why not?..to upset the field!!

SHOTSKI (5):

I'll tell you something: this colt is my second choice because the rest of the field is too green, even though they're not bad horses at all and I'll explain my reasons here:

He was an upset in the Rensem on a gate to wire fashion, but he had to work hard to hold off ALJAWEED who broke last and he was flying to be beaten by just a half a length. There's too much early speed on this field and his chance will be on running steady without burning up himself on an useless early fight for the lead,so he'll depend on the game plan of his jockey, even though his profile is solid for this race.

PORTOS (8):

This race will he his "baptism" on stakes company after destroying his rivals last time out.He showed that his speed and consistency are his best weapons,so I notice that he'll have a bigger chance to go through a violent pace on this one than SHOTSKI,but the key difference will be the lack of experience on stakes groups, even though he's the best of the up and coming colts for this race.Without any pressure on the lead,he can tie gate and wire..ALERT!!

MY FAVORITES: PRINCE OF PHAROAHS (6)-SHOTSKI (5)-PORTOS (8)

THE ROBERT B. LEWIS

STAKES (Gr.3)

THOUSAND WORDS (2):

Winner Of THE LOS ALAMITOS FUTURITY (Gr.2) on a dramatic finish, resisting the final push of ANNEAU D'OR,but he showed he's capable of being a very tough horse and he went through the long stretch of this track. He's coming back to Santa Anita, where he'll run on a regular distance stretch,so he'll have enough stamina to hold off the deep running horses, and he has worked great so that is a plus about his top form to win this race. He's a logic top choice for most of the handicappers and bettors.

HIGH VELOCITY (5):

He started his campaign with two victories but he was beaten by THOUSAND WORDS last time out,He really flatted out after setting the pace and trying to survive on the lead on a long stretch. He could run more relaxed and why not trying to impose a comfy pace to steal this one gate to wire?

Joel Rosario will ride him and he can beat the favorite from the first jump to take the early lead.

ROYAL ACT (4):

Going up in class added to a bad start kept him to repeat his winning debut, but he didn't look bad, finishing four lengths away from ENCODER who's in this race too.

ROYAL ACT is an up and coming horse, looking for a chance to shine and even though this is a tough stage,a win is not out of the equation. He worked out 5 furlongs in a minute flat a few days ago and looks to be fit and ready to wait for his rivals to fight for the victory.

MY FAVORITES: THOUSAND WORDS (2)  - HIGH VELOCITY (5) - ROYAL ACT (4)
